back in the day, you had to pay over a hundo for apple support. this option was offered when you bought your computer, i’m not sure you could sign up later.. and it would take forever to run diagnostics- hence the term, apple minutes. i would wait on hold and a few times, unplugging and plugging my iMac back in would solve the problem. the only way to get free help was in person (if you were lucky enough to have an apple store in your city), with a Genius. but that was problematic cuz the stores would be lined up with folks needing help so the sales team couldn’t sell. the solution? free apple support!
