i understand why this isn’t funny to anyone but me. it’s hilarious because we apparently had an office manager and out of a small staff of about 15 of us, no one knew who it was. well, we knew who she was we were all unaware of her title and we pretty much guessed everyone else but her. she was great and really capable but we soon discovered that the Xerox machine knew when it was low on toner and actually placed the order for us (brilliant business model btw), and when the office manager went on mat leave, which at the time was 12 months in Canada, the managers had delegated her duties to others and made her redundant. they eliminated her position shortly after she returned from mat leave. that’s actually not the funny part. it was more the manhunt for the “person” who proactively ordered the printer toner without permission.

and marshall’s name is actually mitchell. this information is probably necessary to appreciate the hilarity. again, this is when i really only made the comics for a few friends in the office.
