Crayzee Poor Asian began as an office joke in 2018 when a coworker and I were complaining about the cost of our education. Forever paying multiple student loans when we weren’t earning real adult money, and the reality of maybe never working in our fields of study. At the time, Kevin Kwan’s hit novel, Crazy Rich Asians, had blown-up on the screen and was a global success. So if the masses were that interested in the lives of these crazy rich Asians, it naturally made sense to tell a more relatable story of a Crayzee Poor Asian, in a far less serious, badly drawn, bite size format- a comic strip. These comics are loosely based or inspired by true events. Or sometimes completely made up.
